Ever heard of Globalfest? Neither had I until we started planning this trip to Calgary, Alberta. It’s the 2nd largest festival in Canada & 10 years old. In addition to culture–ethnic food & performances–there’s a fireworks competition.
Also called One World Festival, GlobalFest is held in Elliston Park which is ideal because it has a lake & sits atop an old landfill. I’ve learned that fireworks shouldn’t pop over a city’s water supply, at least in environmentally conscious Canada. This makes Elliston perfect.
We have tickets for Sunday night’s finale and, of course, I’ll report on it. In the meantime, we’ll be revisiting Lake Louise tomorrow.
